On the morning of January 24th, NHSA hosted a Breakfast on the Hill event and invited all the Members of Congress and their staff to attend. In spite of the busy day at hand--the State of the Union was mere hours away!--six Representatives made time to address conference participants and many more Members of Congress and Congressional staffers came to have breakfast and conversation with the Head Start parents and staff they represent. One staffer even stepped forward to talk about how he himself is a Head Start alum and how the program offered him an opportunity to succeed. Check out our photos:
Many Congressional offices were represented - take a look at the list below! If one or more of your representatives participated, be especially sure to reach out and thank them. If none of your representatives made it, don’t be discouraged - reach out and offer to help them learn more about your program and the value of Head Start.
