Day 1: Leadership and Legacy

During this session participants will:

  • Improve their understanding of how leadership practices impact Head Start program management and operations
  • Identify strategies to improve their own leadership practices
  • Develop their own legacy statement to guide their work on behalf of the Head Start program

Day 2: Nuts and Bolts of Management Systems

During this session participants will:

  • Improve their knowledge and articulation of Head Start statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to management systems (communication, planning, record-keeping, reporting, and program monitoring)
  • Gain knowledge of program practices that facilitate strong management systems - Identify opportunities to improve their own agency management systems

Day 4: Outcomes-Based Management and Strategic Practices

During this session participants will:

  • Understand how data can be used to routinely inform and improve classroom practice and services to families;
  • Understand how data can increase the effectiveness of staff collaboration and professional development;
  • Understand how to create a foundation for data-driven practices;
  • Understand how to build internal systems for interpreting and translating data-to-practice;
  • Experience “data dialogues” and create “data-to-practice action plans.”
