NHSA supports the professional development of Head Start teachers and other Head Start staff through a partnership with the University of Cincinnati(UC). Together, NHSA and UC are creating a bachelor’s degree specifically designed to meet the needs of Head Start early childhood professionals. During the early years of HeadsUp!, NHSA’s distance education network, Head Start professionals participated via satellite in classes leading to UC’s AAS degree in early childhood. UC has also loaned executive staff to NHSA through a unique “Director-on-Loan” initiative.
