$7 Billion Restored to Senate Human Services Budget: The Specter-Harkin amendment adds $7 billion to Head Start, child care, education, and health and nutrition programs.
Head Start Bill Passes in House, Waits in Senate: Both versions contain controversial provisions against which NHSA urges friends of Head Start to speak out."
Funding Cuts Threaten 16K Head Start Slots: In FY 06 Head Start will receive $57 million less than in FY 05. This is the equivalent of 16,206 Head Start and Early Head Start slots.
