The National Head Start Association is pleased to announce our 2017 Manager & Director Academy, June 26 – June 29, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The 2017 MDA will focus on critical issues facing Head Start programs of all sizes throughout the United States. This year's content will focus on the challenges and opportunities created by the new Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). How can your program implement the necessary changes in a way that best suits your children, families, and staff? What practices around data and systems can support your daily practice.
The program is developed by NHSA staff in collaboration with outside experts. Under the direction of skilled moderators, the Academy will feature a wide range of presenters with expertise in areas of strategic importance to Head Start.
Timing: the Academy will begin at 9 AM Monday morning and runs until 3:30 PM on Thursday afternoon.
The MDA is valuable for both new and experienced teams of executive directors, directors, fiscal staff, human resources, and content-area managers, as they drill down on pressing issues.
“NHSA’s Manager and Director Academy provided engaging and interactive opportunities to reflect and assess our program and our team. The emphasis on Practice-Based Coaching, and Relational Leadership offered creative and inspiring ways to build dynamic teams. In addition, we were treated to a session on using data to drive program decision making and left energized and motivated to implement strong systems focusing on integrated services and high quality programming. The Manager and Director Academy was stimulating, educational and thought provoking. Each of our team members left excited to implement the strategies and techniques from the Academy.”
