Family Service Resource Center
Welcome to the NHSA Family Service Resource Center, a source for information and tools to support Head Start and Early Head Start Family Service Managers and their staff. This site is new and growing! We look forward to working with all of you to build a center that provides resources that will be useful to you in your work.
NHSA brings you a monthly newsletter for families through a partnership with PreschoolFirst, the online assessment and curriculum resource developed by The Source for Learning, Inc.
The Family Connections Newsletter is published monthly, in English and Spanish, for Head Start and Early Head Start programs to reproduce and distribute within their programs. The Newsletter allows Head Start programs to personalize the publication by inserting their agency's name and logo above the masthead. There is also space in some issues for agencies to insert local information relevant to that particular newsletter.
A group of Head Start/Early Head Start Family Service and Parent Engagement Managers from across the country contributed input about the topics and format. Each issue embeds a "developmental lens" to help parents understand what's appropriate for children at different ages and stages, so that families can better understand their child's current abilities.

- Safe toys right in your home
- Wish vs. need
- Social Media use; screen time in families
- The many benefits of exercise
- Talking with young children & language milestones
- Financial tips & guidance to free tax return preparation
