The National Head Start Association joins forces with Together Rx Access to Improve Prescription Access
The National Head Start Association recently announced a collaboration with Together Rx Access to launch the Together Rx Access® FOR HEAD START Card. The Card will help eligible uninsured individuals and families associated with Head Start access immediate and meaningful savings on prescription medicines and products right at their neighborhood pharmacies.
Many individuals associated with Head Start are without health insurance, making it difficult for them to stay healthy and to manage chronic conditions. Some low-income families who participate in Head Start programs do not qualify for public assistance, such as Medicaid. Although many participating children are covered under SCHIP, their parents often face difficulty accessing their prescription medications. In addition many Head Start volunteers donate their time to the organization; those who lack health insurance could benefit from a Program that helps them save on their prescriptions.
Most Together Rx Access FOR HEAD START cardholders save 25 to 40 percent* on brand-name prescription products. More than 300 brand-name medicines are included in the Program.† Savings are also available on a wide range of generics. The Together Rx Access Card FOR HEAD START Card is free to get and free to use.
Individuals may be eligible for the Together Rx Access FOR HEAD START Card if they do not qualify for Medicare, do not have public or private prescription drug coverage, have a household income of up to $45,000 for a single person to $90,000 for a family of four (income eligibility is adjusted for family size), and are legal residents of the United States or Puerto Rico.

The Together Rx Access FOR HEAD START Card is accepted at the majority of pharmacies nationwide and in Puerto Rico. Cardholders simply bring the Card to their neighborhood pharmacist along with their prescription, and the savings are calculated right at the pharmacy counter.
All enrollment materials, including the Together Rx Access website, are available in English and Spanish. A Together Rx Access FOR HEAD START quick start savings card is also available. Potential enrollees simply detach the Card from a brochure and call the toll-free number to find out if they are eligible, enroll and instantly activate their Card.
