Head Start Confronts the Threats of Sequestration On Wednesday, July 25th, Dr. Tammy Mann President and CEO of the Campagna Center in Alexandria, Virginia, testified before the Senate Appropriations Committee Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies regarding the potential impact of the sequester on Head Start and Early Head Start: “The looming 7.8% cut to non-defense discretionary programs will have a serious, immediate, and disruptive impact on the vulnerable children and families we serve,” said Dr. Mann. “There is simply no way we can absorb this large a reduction without cutting children, families, and staff from our program.” Read Dr. Mann’s full testimony.
