Family Development Credential (FDC) Instructors Institute at the Annual Head Start Parent Conference NHSA is pleased to announce the inclusion of the Family Development Credential (FDC) Instructors Institute - December 1-5, 2012, as part of our 29th Annual Parent Conference and Family Engagement Institutes. The FDC program collaborates with agencies to teach family workers how to coach families to set and reach their goals for healthy self-reliance. Based on Cornell University research, the interagency FDC program is available in communities across the states to frontline workers from public, private and non-profit service systems (e.g., family service workers, home visitors, case managers, family resource center workers, community health workers). Abriendo Puertas is the nation's first evidence-based parent leadership and advocacy training program for Latino parents with children 0-5 years of age. We are now accepting applications for this 2½ day regional Facilitators Training occurring November 14, 15, and 16, 2012 in Ellicott City, MD.
