(Washington, DC) – The National Head Start Association will be hosting a live Twitter chat, with Claire Montialoux, UC Berkeley, and Diane Shanzenbach, the Brooking Institution. They will be discussing recent research underscoring the Head Start Advantage. The Brooking Institution’s Hamilton Project released a study, The Long-term Impact of the Head Start Program, showing that Head Start improves education outcomes, increasing the probability that participants graduate from high school, attend college, and receive a post-secondary degree, license, or certification. Revisiting the Impact of Head Start, a study by the Institute for Research Labor and Employment at Berkeley, pulled together findings from multiple papers using data from the Head Start Impact Study to reaffirm the effectiveness of Head Start. Spokespeople from these institutions, along with NHSA, will be explaining their research and showing just why the Head Start Advantage matters in today’s Twitter chat.
