Statement on Resignation of HHS Secretary Sebelius

April 11, 2014

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that she is leaving her post.

The following statement should be attributed to Yasmina Vinci, Executive Director of the National Head Start Association:

"We respect Secretary Sebelius’s stalwart support of Head Start and her tireless efforts to promote access to quality early childhood education. She has been diligent in her responsibility to our nation’s poorest children and has fortified Head Start’s fifty year commitment to providing a window of opportunity to our most vulnerable children. We appreciate her service to our country, and our children, and wish her the best as she moves on to the next chapter in her esteemed career."
