Your Association is Working for You

The Office of Head Start recently put out guidance on how to conduct fundraising through an IM. We have heard from Head Start directors, staff, and parents around the country that the IM was confusing and appeared to make fundraising more difficult for programs and parents.

NHSA raised this issue with the Office of Head Start on your behalf. After several conversations and written correspondence, we received a very positive response from Director Channell Wilkins. In his letter, Director Wilkins states that parents can conduct fundraising drives to raise money for the Dollar per Child campaign without violating the law. The letter also addresses many other concerns of the Head Start community.
