NATIONAL HEAD START ASSOCIATION SEEKS NEW LEADERSHIP
WASHINGTON, D.C.///December 7, 2007//After waging a successful multi-year effort to reauthorize Head Start, the National Head Start Association (NHSA) announced today the appointment of Michael McGrady interim President and CEO to lead the 2,700 member association and the post-reauthorization regulatory and guidance effort with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Head Start. McGrady will lead NHSA, the national voice of the parents, children and educators involved in Head Start, which is America's premier school readiness program. He replaces Sarah Greene, former President and CEO of the Association. The National Head Start Association is currently seeking a new President and CEO.
The new Interim President and CEO said: “I look forward to continuing my work with the Head Start community, our friends and supporters throughout the country in positioning Head Start for the challenges of the new global economy.”
NHSA Board Chair Ron Herndon, said: “The next few years will be critical to the success of Head Start and we want to make sure that our Association is positioned to tackle the major challenges and opportunities facing our country’s children and families. We know that the next few years will decide the fate of this program that we all cherish so much.”
