These agencies will distribute food, cash, and goods to Head Start families, staff, and others affected by the storm. Contributions are greatly needed and very much appreciated. All contributions are tax-deductible. Please make checks payable to one of the four agencies listed above. Please indicate on your check that it is for “Hurricane relief.”
Additionally, NHSA will provide support to other programs across the country that are supporting evacuees. This assistance will be made directly through the NHSA Disaster Relief Fund. To donate to this fund, please download the Donation Form. Those seeking assistance outside of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, please download the Relief Fund Request .
If you are aware of Head Start agencies in other states that are assisting hurricane evacuees, we are interested in hearing from you. Also, we encourage you to provide us with information on relief efforts and resources that have been made available in your community. Please contact Michael McGrady, (703) 739-7553, mmcgrady@nhsa.org.
The Head Start Bureau has informed us that they will be providing guidance and financial assistance to Head Start programs affected by the hurricane.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all of the victims of this terrible tragedy, and we will work together to help ease their suffering.
Sincerely,
