On April 6, 2011, the NHSA released its three-year research agenda to position NHSA as a thought leader and innovator in the early childhood education and care community. NHSA's Strategic Plan called for the development and launch of the three-year research agenda.
NHSA sought input into the formulation of this research agenda using several methods, including surveying the Head Start and Early Head Start programs, NHSA Board of Directors, and NHSA's State, Regional, and National Affiliates, holding a session at the September 2010 Leadership Institute, and listening attentively and registering concerns when we spoke with the Head Start and Early Head Start community. NHSA's three-year agenda reflects feedback from NHSA member programs, NHSA affiliates, and Head Start parents, teachers, and staff.
This research agenda is a statement of priority research areas to pursue during calendar years 2011 through 2013. To accomplish the work in these priority areas, NHSA will work in partnership with its affiliates and other national organizations and seek funding from foundations and other external funding sources.
