National Reporting System

The Head Start National Reporting System (NRS) is the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ effort to measure the progress of 4- and 5-year-old Head Start children over the course of their school year by testing them at the beginning and end of their school year. At present, the NRS assesses these children on a narrow band of cognitive measures.
