National Head Start Association has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102; (703) 506-3275. In obtaining this approval, the National Head Start Association has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. As a result of their Authorized Provider accreditation status, National Head Start Association is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.
The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) was created by IACET as a measurement of continuing education. One (1) IACET CEU is equal to ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. Under IACET's care, the IACET CEU has evolved from a quantitative measure to a hallmark of quality training and instruction.
NHSA collects information on our registrants in our registration service software, or our association management software for non-conference events. Starting seven days after the completion of the educational opportunity, attendees have access to the completed CEU certificate based on the sessions attended. In addition, all data on attendees who have completed CEUs is transferred into our CEU database which holds information on all CEUs completed through opportunities at NHSA. Participants may request a report of all CEU credits completed through NHSA by contacting the Professional Development department by sending an email to profdev@nhsa.org or by calling 703-739-0875.
