HeadsUp! Network
Distance Training for the Early Childhood Community
The HeadsUp! Network is the national direct broadcast satellite
training network owned and operated by the National Head Start
Association.
The Network harnesses the power of technology to offer all
early childhood staff and parents access to high-quality training
that is consistent with the needs of the community and courses
that lead to the completion of higher education degrees.
Training, information, and coursework are delivered each
month to over 2,000 early childhood sites in 48 states. Training
sites range from Head Start, child care, and pre-K centers,
to libraries, colleges, universities, resource & referral
centers, and others.
The HeadsUp! Network Provides These Key Benefits:
- Training designed to improve children's learning outcomes and enhance teacher practices.
- Savings: See below for how you can train your entire staff and parents right on site, without incurring the high costs of travel and lodging.
- A targeted programming lineup of quality training and information on early literacy, infant and toddler issues, health and safety, parenting, leadership and more, via 10-12 hours of live, interactive and taped training each month.
- HeadsUp! Reading, the nation's largest college class on early literacy. Visit www.heads-up.org to learn more.
- The Early Childhood Associate Degree from the University of Cincinnati's Early Childhood Learning Community (ECLC);
- Credits: college credit, in-service training hours, continuing education units (CEUs) and hours toward the CDA credential.
- Special product incentives from our corporate partners, including Procter & Gamble.
- And much more!
NHSA understands the challenges of allocating local program
training dollars. Directors are unable to send the numbers
of staff they would like to conferences due to the costs for
travel and accommodations. The HeadsUp! Network saves you
money! At just $75 per month per site (plus a one-time
installation fee), the HeadsUp! Network provides all early
childhood programs an extremely cost-effective, on-site training
tool for their entire staff and parents.
We are from the 'Show Me' state and NHSA showed us
again! We're a rural community and have trouble tying into
community colleges because of the access and travel. This
gives us a great opportunity to obtain CEUs and college credit.
