Anti-Racism and Anti-Bias, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant
The National Head Start Association (NHSA) is seeking proposals to help our organization commit to anti-racism and antibias and ensure our work climate is healthy and inclusive for all. We seek to conduct internal diversity, anti-racist, and antibias learning sessions with NHSA staff; conduct diversity audits and provide support to identify metrics to measure organizational progress; regularly assess and chart next steps; and in doing so, strengthen our organization’s overall commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. We believe that through continuous learning, constant reflection, and open communication we can better accomplish our mission of coalescing, inspiring, and supporting the Head Start community as a leader in early childhood development and education.
Director of Communications

The National Head Start Association is seeking a Director of Communications to help tell the story of the transcendent impact of the Head Start program, establish a compelling narrative on the unique promise Head Start holds and foster nationwide recognition and support for Head Start, the nation’s oldest, largest, and most effective early childhood education and anti-poverty program.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional communications professional who brings a mix of in-depth public relations expertise, experience with a complex grid of stakeholders, and social media savvy, ideally but not necessarily in the nonprofit sector. S/he is a seasoned practitioner with a proven record of accomplishment and experience communicating to diverse audiences while at the same time being an innovator in his/her field. The ideal candidate is someone who is open-minded and constantly exploring new ways to deliver NHSA’s messages effectively.
This is a unique opportunity for the right person to help tell the powerful Head Start story and ensure it stays relevant and inspires future generations. Moreover, it is a chance to develop innovative communication programs that positively impact millions of lives and contribute to strengthening the nation’s civic fabric.

NHSA’s internship program is designed to introduce college students to non-profit organizations and offer an opportunity to be involved in the daily workings of NHSA in areas including national and grassroots advocacy, research, communications, and more.
