2017 Winter Leadership Institute
January 23 - 26, 2017

This event will be held at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., just a few blocks away from the White House.

Registration is now open! Sign up early as we expect to fill to sell out again this year.

Our Institute schedule has changed so that Hill visits will now take place on TUESDAY JANUARY 24th and our schedule for the Tuesday has moved to Wednesday.  This change was made after Congressional leadership announced on January 10th that they will now be out of session on the 25th.

Planning for the Future

Now more than ever, the leaders of the Head Start community need to come together and plan for the future. There is a massive amount of change underway in Washington, and we are called upon to redouble our hard work on behalf of children and families across the nation. There will undoubtedly be challenges ahead, but together we can build upon the tremendous progress that the Head Start community has made in 2016.

Our Winter Leadership Institute is important not only because it offers informative sessions, innovative panels, and invaluable networking events, but also because it provides the opportunity to meet with members of Congress. The NHSA team will make sure that you have all the resources necessary to schedule a meeting with your members on the Hill during the week of our Institute. These meetings are critical to maintaining a strong relationship with Congress and making sure that our voices are heard.

Get Ready to Start Early!

We will also be starting earlier than normal this year so we can accommodate a huge amount of content - be sure to arrive in D.C. before 10 am on Monday! This year’s Institute will be held at the Capitol Hilton - a block away from the White House and right off of K street.

By convening leaders from across the country, our Leadership Institutes help drive the Head Start community forward. The team at NHSA (and members of Congress!) are always inspired and galvanized by the stories, ideas, and concerns that are raised.

Together, we can make sure that this dialogue leads to results.
