About the 2020 Academy
This year’s virtual Manager and Director Academy (vMDA), taking place July 20-23, is going to be a bit different from previous years, and not only because we’ll be gathering virtually. We’re living in a new era, and we think it’s important to support Head Start leaders like you in these unprecedented times.
In addition to exploring the fundamental issues of running and leading successful early childhood programs, we also have to face head-on all of the unique difficulties and challenges we’re facing right now.
Sessions will cover everything from how to prepare for DRS to how to be a courageous leader during times of crisis. Other sessions focused on leading during COVID-19 will include making teams run more smoothly while remote, safely reopening for our communities, keeping your teams motivated, and more.
As a virtual conference, this year’s Academy will also feature a new format to accommodate the benefits of remote learning. Every time slot will feature three concurrent breakout sessions, and recordings will be made available for 30 days after the conference so you can catch anything you might have missed. We also encourage programs to send a whole leadership team—which would enable you to attend all sessions in real-time—and take advantage of the group discount of 10% off with 3 or more registrations.
