The powerful 50 year history of Head Start exemplifies our nation’s commitment to the success of all children and families, no matter their circumstances at birth.
But a strong history does not guarantee success or stability moving forward. Change is pervasive in this 51st year of Head Start - from innovations arising from new research, to new programming to meet the needs of a new generation of millennial parents, to responses to threats and opportunities created by the shifting political landscape of a Presidential election. In the face of often daunting change, how will the Head Start community remain committed to serving our nation’s most vulnerable children and families? How can we grow even stronger over the next 50 years?
This February, join leaders in the Head Start community in Washington, D.C. to discuss how Head Start will remain steadfast in their commitment to families. NHSA’s 2016 Winter Leadership Institute will address policy questions, solutions, and foster conversations about how Head Start can best serve families now and for the next 50 years.
The Winter Leadership Institute provides an unparalleled opportunity to hear straight from the source, in Washington, D.C. Sessions will focus on key policy developments, new ideas, and innovations. We will kick-off of NHSA’s new Book Club, and, or course, we will hear from Members of Congress, the Administration, and the Office of Head Start.
This event will be held at the Hyatt Regency, which is currently sold out. The overflow hotel is across the street and can be booked until January 22, 2016. For reservations call 703-549-3434 or click the link above.
