NHSA’s Annual Head Start Conference and Expo is the largest national event devoted to the Head Start and Early Head Start community.
This year more than 5,000 executive directors, directors, administrators, managers, teachers, policy council members, and parents from every state will gather in Washington, D.C. March 29 - April 2, 2015.

Supporting the Candidate in the Credentialing Process
The following is a list of suggestions to help guide family services and health services candidates through the credential process.
It is recommended that a Credential Supervisor be in a current position in the program as a family or health services manager/coordinator and have at least five years of experience in family or health services, with at least three of those years spent in a Head Start program.

This study, led by NORC at the University of Chicago with guidance from the National Head Start Association and Region V Head Start Association, will inform our national understanding of parent engagement and create a tool to help local programs collect better information from parents about their experiences.

Measuring family engagement through parents' own words
NHSA is now offering a web-based instrument that measures parent experience and the impact of early childhood programs’ engagement efforts. This innovative new tool aligns with the Office of Head Start’s Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Framework. Programs can use this tool to identify the needs of their families, the strengths of their PFCE efforts, and areas for improvement. Easy-to-read results provide baseline data and measure growth throughout the year.
